9 Day Luxury Cape Town & Sun City Golf Holiday

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, guests are met by an African Sands representative who will present them with their self drive tour itinerary, all the vouchers for the tour, a map book of South Africa as well as a GPS on which a suggested travel route has been pre programmed.
 

After looking through the documentation, guests will have the opportunity to ask the African Sands Representative any questions they may have. All of our team have years of experience in conducting tours throughout South and Southern Africa. They should be able to answer any questions guests might have regarding their golf holiday. Guests will then be assisted by the African Sands representative with the collection of their hired car.
 

Make your way into Cape Town and check in at the luxurious Cape Grace Hotel located at the V&A waterfront.

After breakfast transfer to Westlake Golf Course and enjoy a round of golf at this fabulous course.
Set against the amethyst slopes of the Silvermine mountains lies one of Cape Town's Premier Courses - Westlake. This easy to walk, 18 hole Par 72 golf course is characterised by the towering trees, which line many of its fairways. Westlake has a very interesting, yet user-friendly design and quite a few doglegs. If you manage to stay out of the trees, you will achieve a good score.
From the first to the eighteenth hole, every step affords panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Lunch at leisure.

(Optional) Spend the afternoon exploring the city of Cape Town and end the day with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain.

After breakfast transfer to Clovelly Course and enjoy a round of golf at this course.
 

Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek in Cape Town lies Clovelly Country Club, with one of the finest golf courses in South Africa. Clovelly’s championship-quality greens (bent grass/poa annua mix) are among the finest in Southern Africa. Of moderate length (5 869m – Par 72 men & Par 73 ladies), Clovelly is unique in that it follows neither the links nor the American tradition in its design. It is a tight course by South African standards, and has a fine blend of testing holes, with the Silvermine River, and adjacent ponds adding much to their character.

(Optional) Spend the afternoon exploring the dramatic Cape Point. Climb to the old lighthouse which was a signal for sailors to be cautious and to let them know they were rounding the "feared" Cape. Explore this area and stop at the penguin colony at boulders on your return.

After breakfast transfer to one of the oldest golf courses in Cape Town – Royal Cape Golf Course. 
Royal Cape Golf Club is a true championship course having hosted the South African Open no less than ten times and the SA Amateur Championships eight times. With lovely views of Table Mountain from most holes this championship course offers a beautiful setting that will make your visit here truly memorable.

(Optional) Visit Robben Island this afternoon. The three hour tour included a 45 minute boat ride and you will have the opportunity to stand in Nelson Mandela’s cell.

Majestic mountain backdrops, panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides planted with vine and sparkling views of the ocean from the higher vantage points all create a spectacular golf course to play on.
Gary Player was the designer of the course and little of his immaculate challenges have been altered. The introduction of trees and the considerable care of manicuring the surrounds are nevertheless noticeable improvements. The first nine holes are on the low, flat part of the estate and the second nine are on high, undulating ground. This will give you two different feels, but there remains a common thread and that is the standard of the superbly shaped greens, with truly consistent putting surfaces.

(Optional) Spend the afternoon in the Stellenbosch Winelands sampling a variety of world class wines and don’t forget to purchase the best bottles for your collection at home.

Day Six - Depart Cape Town for Sun City

Check out of your hotel and return your rental car to the airport in time for your flight to Sun City. On arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport you will be transferred to Sun City.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the resort.

Day Seven - Golf at Lost City Golf Course

Spend the morning enjoying the Lost City Golf Course

The Lost City Golf Course is an 18-hole desert-style golf course with spectacular views across the bushveld. Unique to this 72 par course are the 38 real crocodiles at the 13th hole making this one of the most unusual golf resorts in the world, let alone in Africa! The golf course covers more than 100 hectares and incorporates 28 000 square metres of water features …. not surprisingly golf carts are compulsory.

(Optional) Go on a game drive in the neighboring Pilanesberg Game Reserve in search of lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. An African safari experience is the ideal combination to a golf holiday

Day Eight - Golf on the Gary Player Golf Course

Spend the morning enjoying a round of golf on one of South Africa’s best known golf courses!

South Africa’s famous Gary Player Country Club features an 18-hole golf course with a par of 72. The Gary Player Golf Course situated at Sun City is home to the prestigious Nedbank Golf Challenge. The clever design and multiple tees make the course equally enjoyable for both the keen novice and the skilled professional.

(Optional) Spend the afternoon relaxing at the Valley of the Waves before a night in the casino.

Check out of your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the resort before you are met by your local driver and  transferred to Johannesburg airport in time for your connecting flight home.
