Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg / Lesotho

Depart Johannesburg and travel to Lesotho via Bethlehem. Enjoy the views of the diversity of fauna and flora through the Free State.

 

Enter Maseru at the Caledonpoort Border post. Travel through Butha Buthe to your lodge in the Tsehlanyane National Park. 

 

Dinner at the Lodge

Day 2: Lesotho

Breakfast at the lodge 

 

After breakfast spend the day enjoying pony ‘trekking’ (riding) (optional extra).

 

For the less adventurous, spend the day at leisure at the hotel or taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful surrounding mountains with a hike. 

 

Dinner at the lodge

Day 3: Lesotho/ Golden Gate Highlands

An early breakfast, drive along the winding roads, admiring the mountains and valleys of Lesotho while ascending to over 3000m above sea level.

 

Re-enter South Africa and enter the Golden Gate Highlands with its dramatically sculpted peaks, ridges and cliffs set in the valley of the Little Caledon River.

Day 4: Golden Gate / Drakensberg

Enjoy a lazy morning breakfast before you depart to experience a whole new vista of the Drakensberg.

 

Compare the differences between the Northern and the Southern Berg regions in flora and fauna

 

Arrive at your destination close to Himeville and Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg

Day 5 : Drakensberg / Durban

 

Breakfast at the guest house. 
 
After breakfast depart for Durban. Passing through the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, through Ixopo to uMzinto enjoy the wonderful views of the Indian Ocean before you reach Durban for drop off at your hotel or at Durban International Airport.
