12 Day Beach & Bush Southern Africa Safari

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, guests are met by an African Sands representative who will present them with their self drive tour itinerary, all the vouchers for the tour and a map book of South Africa.
After looking through the documentation, guests will have the opportunity to ask the African Sands Representative any questions they may have. All of our team have years of experience in conducting tours throughout South and Southern Africa. They should be able to answer any questions guests might have regarding their holiday.

Guests will then be assisted with the check in formalities for their flight to Chitwa Chitwa

On arrival at Chitwa Chitwa, guests will be met by their ranger and transferred to their lodge.

The late afternoon is at leisure to explore the lodge

Tonight you will depart on your first game drive with your ranger and tracker in search of the famous “Big Five”

Early morning wake up call

Enjoy a quick cup of tea before departing on another game drive in an open 4X4 safari vehicle conducted by your experienced ranger and tracker. The possibility of finding predators on a kill made during the night adds to the excitement. The safari returns to camp for a late breakfast after which guests are allowed some time for relaxation or a bush walk before embarking on an afternoon safari which is extended into the evening.

Weather dependant, dinner could be served in the middle of the bush with wild Africa all around you!

Enjoy your final game drive searching for the Big Five before returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast
After breakfast check out of your room and meet with your driver who will transfer you to the airport.

Afternoon is at leisure

On arrival at Pemba Airport you will be transferred by light aircraft to Vamizi Island

On arrival at Vamizi Island you will be met by your local driver and transferred to the lodge

Late afternoon is at leisure to explore you new surrounds

Your stay at Vamizi Island is on a fully inclusive basis.

You can be as active or as relaxed as you like at the Lodge.

Some of the dives at Vamizi are said to be the best in the world and the deep sea fishing better than the whole East African coast. Vamizi have PADI dive instructors, professional fisherfolk, and all the toys and kit you’d want to make the most of this extraordinary marine world.  For the less committed thrill seekers, there are snorkeling trips, castaway picnics, whale watching expeditions, kayaking expeditions,   relaxing traditional dhows and Hobbie Cat sailing. Or, explore the land, a piece of paradise! Wander the miles of sugar sand untouched beaches, or delve into the bush for a spot of monkey - or bird-watching. There is something for everyone.
