Use your car only to visit the wine estates, golf courses, nearby Cape town or to do whale watching at Hermanus.

Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands is one of the most well-known wine-producing regions in the world, boasting almost 150 wine farms. Recently the Stellenbosch Wine Routes was nominated the Top Wine Region in the world by the leading international magazine, Wine Enthusiast. Close to Cape Town, Robben Island and Table Mountain, it is also one of the 6 most popular tourist attractions in South Africa, offering daily wine tasting, cellar tours and sales. Many of the wine farms also serve excellent food at either their restaurants or picnics.
The Winelands around Stellenbosch offer a huge variety of things to do and enjoy. World class restaurants with award-winning chefs make for many fine dining opportunities. Luxury Spa treatments can be enjoyed at any one of several venues in and around Stellenbosch. Many different hiking trails exist, while just strolling in The Avenue lined with its famous oak-trees alongside the Eerste River, or through the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, is equally relaxing. The town has several different theatres, amongst others the Oude Libertas Theatre, and hosts the internationally known Rupert Museum and regular art exhibitions.
Adjacent to The Avenue is the world famous Coetzenburg Sport Stadium. It offers a gimnasium, biokinetic facilities and hosts the Danie Craven Rugby Stadium.
If you want to venture outside of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek is a mere 30 minutes’ drive away. In and around Cape Town visit Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Waterfront and the Green Point Soccer Stadium. Play golf at several excellent courses, including Stellenbosch, Boschenmeer in Paarl or Arabella near Hermanus. While there, do some whale watching!
