Yet again this gastronomic country has managed a great achievement by having La Colombe and Le Quartier Francais placed in the S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list!
These awards are prestigious because they are based on an extensive poll, comprising a panel of the world's most celebrated chefs, renowned food critics, leading restaurateurs and well-travelled gourmands. The criteria and expectations are tough!
Superb La Colombe located in the Constantia Wine region, in the Western Cape has been named as the Acqua Panna Best Restaurant in Middle East & Africa and broke into the Top 20! It was voted the world's 12th best restaurant, having moved up 26 places. A phenomenal achievement!
Also in the top 50 is the wonderful Le Quartier Francais located in the fabulous town of Franschhoek, which has moved up 6 places to be voted the world's 31st best restaurant! This amazing restaurant has been in S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list year-on-year since 2005!
Staying in the Winelands, the wonderful Rust en Vrede in Stellenbosch came in at no. 74 – another outstanding achievement!
