Then, think no further than the Salt Rock Caravan Park, situated just off Salt Rock Beach, near Ballito on the north coast of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. This is the perfect family friendly campsite. It has 90 select caravan and tent sites. There are good electrical connection points; clean ablution blocks with hot & cold water (with plug points for accessories), it is close to a small convenience store and local restaurants. But most importantly are the facilities it is close to: a lovely clean sandy beach that is lifeguard protected and shark protected, a wonderful tidal pool that is perfect for lazy swimming or just watching the aquatic life swim by, there are hundreds of rock pool to explore and miles of beaches to enjoy.
Fed up with beach life, then the town of Ballito offers shops, restaurants and a small cinema. Want something bigger, then you are about 30 minutes from the Gateway, one of Africa’s largest shopping centres. Along the north coast you are able to go dolphin spotting (either from the shore or by boat), shark spotting with the Natal Sharks board, micro lighting, horse riding and if you venture a little further north, then the whole of the Zulu Kingdom awaits you.
